Crop for the Cure Artiste prizes!

I am sensitive to Crop for the Cures since I am NED and a survivor of two types of cancers. The Owenton homemakers do a fantastic all day crop two times a year at the extension center.  This Saturday everyone that attends will be able to make a free Artiste flower and will get the chance to earn a little Artiste pie box.  I will also be teaching a free Creative Insider workshop using the great CTMH paper pack called Brushed for the first 20 people that sign up.  If you haven't registered for this crop, drop by the extension center and visit the many craft Vendors that will be there with fantastic products.  Always, Alayne

Last in weekly Picture My Life Extra Card Series!

This morning I was getting ready for the Crop for the Cure that is Saturday in Owenton, Ky.  I am teaching a class using the Brushed paper packet.  I came across some extra Picture My Life cards from a Chantilly kit. The colors go great with the Brushed paper pack, so I picked out 5 of my favorites, punched holes in the corners, added some words from Artfully Sent font....and 10 minutes later I had a sweet little banner strung on some tulip retired ribbon.  This will be a great little addition for my craft table Saturday.  Now that the series of extra PML cards is over I will post some of the pages I made (and continue to make) with the card kits.  It is a great project to use when you have lots of pictures.  It is fast and easy.  So enjoy making some pocket scrapbooking pages on your own. I will post the step by step of the 10 minute project when I free up some scratch space on my computer. My everyday computer is in the shop getting a battery repair and my older machine is very "full".  Always, Alayne

Picture My LIfe Card Box Mini Tutorial: Modge Podge

Two weeks ago I posted the little card box I covered with Modge Podge to hold extra PML cards and decorated with a PML card. I didn't have time to post the "how to" so here it is now.  Not only could this box be used for storage, but it could also be used as a special gift box that holds the zutter mini albums I featured on week 2 of the PML extra card series.

Strawberries welcome the new Seasonal Inspiration book...Get yours free with an April order!

A New Idea book from Close To My Heart called Seasonal Expressions will soon be released!  This is a teaser to get you excited!  Anyone who places an order on my OBA as of April 1st will get this Idea book free with your order.
Meanwhile I loved the cover so much I made some of the ARTISTE strawberries to add to my Easter decorations in my home.  I am posting pictures here to show you how to make your own strawberries.  I used the Brushed paper to make mine.  What color will you make yours? I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but if you have any questions, contact me at Alayneswillinghands@gmail.com and I will help you make this cute little project.  If you don't have a cricut feel free to come to my home to cut your strawberries out.  It only takes a couple of minutes.  Always, Alayne

Week 5: Picture My Life Extra Card Ideas: Get ready for a party!

Treat Bags are very reasonably priced and are very easy to adapt with the extra Picture My Life Cards.  Add a name tag that kids can stamp to the folds of the bags for easy organization. A party can be personalized in a snap!

Treat bags can be personalized by attaching extra Picture My Life Cards under the tab at the top of the bag easily.  Children could easily make these sweet bags to be favors or take home treats for their own birthday party or special event.  Involving kids in making the decorations make it special!

Week 4 Picture My Life Storage Box

This is a little box that I added a preview of a new paper pack called Jackson to by using simple Modge Podge coating to make the storage  box long lasting.
In previous Picture My Life card postings, I taught you how to use extra cards. Today's lesson is the opposite, how to organize your cards before you so your PML layouts. I took pics as I made this and I will post a step by step how to soon.

Week 3: Picture My Life extra card ideas! Home Decor

Close To My Heart offers a great collection of  Home Decor frames to display your papercraft creations. These frames are beautiful and versatile.
Today I am using the same frames I used for Christmas decorations (using the My Crush assortment pack cards) by switching out the cards, using extra Picturre My Life cards from the chalk it up  kit.
Both of these projects were quickly made this snowy afternoon, even though the cards for the hinged 5x7 tray had to be trimmed and rounded.
Have fun using your extra PML cards to decorate your home with our fantastic Home Décor frames.
Always, Alayne
